Signal cable connection: 
                                   All the signal cables are connected in radial format i.e., a 6 core, 0.5 sq. mm ATC armoured cable from each field call station is terminated directly to the Main Junction box in the Control Room.   

Power supply cable: The power supply cable (3 core, 1.5 sq. mm ATC armoured) is extended to all the units so that a separate power is available for the system.

Loudspeaker Cable:
                             Each of the FCS is connected to its own loudspeaker through a 2 core 0.75 sq.mm ATC armoured cable.

System Operation:
 1). FCS to MCS: When a field person wishes to talk to the Operator, he lifts the handset of the FCS and presses the FS switch.

An audio beep and a blinking LED attracts the attention of the MCS Operator. The numeric ID of the calling FCS is also displayed in the LCD display in the MCS.

If more than one FCS is calling the attention of the MCS operator, all the numeric IDs of the calling FCS are displayed in the LCD display. Simultaneously an audio beep and a blinking LED is also present.

The MCS operator determines the priority by which the FCS are to be contacted. Accordingly he selects the particular top priority FCS from the calling FCS units.

The operator converses with the selected FCS in private Mode.

Once the call with the FCS is over, the MCS operator selects the next FCS on priority.

2). MCS to FCS:
    When the MCS operator wants to talk to a particular FCS, he lifts the handset and keys in the numeric ID of the particular FCS; a page announcement is heard through the loudspeaker of the particular FCS. If the FCS operator is present nearby, he immediately lifts the handset of the FCS and now converses with the MCS operator in private mode. Once the call is over, the handsets are put back in normal position.

3). FCS to FCS: 
    If required, the inter-connection of the FCSs can be modified so that an FCS in a particular group/zone can call on page mode the FCSs within the group / zone and converse with them in private mode.

The basic operation of page announcements and private conversation within the zone can be done by all the stations in the zone. Whenever a page announcement is made by one member of a zone, it is heard in all the speakers of the other stations in the zone. The wanted person in the zone can go to the nearest field station and talk in private mode.

The private conversation now taking place can be heard by any other field station operator in the zone and can take part in the private conversation, if necessary. The existence of private conversation can be seen by the glowing private LED in all the field stations irrespective of whether a particular field station operator is taking part in private conversation or not.

4). Additional functions by MCS operator:                                          a). The MCS operator can call a particular group or a combination group or all the group and make a page announcement or any other announcement required.
         
       b). The MCS operator can initiate siren which will be heard through the page loudspeakers in all the FCS.

       c). The MCS operator can initiate safety announcements from the MCS unit.
